Kinesiology Tape
Kinesiology Tape is a specially formulated stretch tape with the application of adhesive in a wave pattern. The practice of Kinesiology Taping provides differing levels of support with different tension applications. The idea is that the material stretch and adhesive wave cause a ‘lift’ in the skin layers, increasing blood flow and circulation, therefore reducing fatigue, improving strength and performance and increasing recovery from injury. The application is the key – prepare the skin properly as tape usually stays on for 3-5 days, if cutting from a roll always ensure you round off the corners and use the backing tape after application to rub over the tape and activate the adhesive. Do not remove if wet – the adhesive becomes stickier when wet!
